Snapshot Sunday
SEEDS!!!!!!!!!! (yeah - I do indeed have a bad case of spring fever!)

Yes, that is a picked over chicken carcass headed for the stock pot. And yes, I did hesitate on taking and posting that picture. But snapshot sunday pics are real life, people! (BTW - Em did most of the picking, even when there was meat Tuan had already cut off for everyone! She knows wher her meat comes from, that one!)

It's here!!
I'm sorry that it has taken so long to get this up. I had an appointment with my hair stylist on Friday.

It seems that with each of my kids I have this incredible need to completly change my hair. I chopped off at least 12 inches after Emma came. Only 7 with Daniel, but I had none left! I'm actually growing my hair back out to mid-back so I only had it colored.
It's still a bit surprising to see and I'm still getting used to it but I really love it! You see - my mother is a red-head and all of my siblings but one got red or strawberry blond. So I think I have always wanted to have red hair. It really is as bright as I wanted it to turn out.
Not sure what's left if we have another baby. Suggestions? lol
Emma also went to the stylist - pics to come. I won't promise a specific date, but hopefully tomorrow. :o)

Something's coming!
Could be!
Who knows?
There's something due any day;
I will know right away,
Soon as it shows.
. . .
Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something's coming, something good,
If I can wait!
Something's coming, I don't know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be great!

Snapshot Sunday
I am super excited to take you outside for this edition!
Yes - those are my bulb flowers peeking up from the soil! I spent a lot of time digging them up and replanting them, clearing them and the grass and weeds from a narrow patch of soil that can't be mowed. It seems that they are settled in to their new home quite nicely.

Yea! - we went to the park!! I can't seem to keep life out of these pictures this week!

I bought these lovely blue potatoes from an organic grower right here in my town who had a baby boy on Nov 1st (when we expected Beth) that was due on Oct 10 (Beth's b-day)! Emma thought the blue/purple mashed potatoes were really fun and tasty too.

Link Parties
Sounds cheesy but these have been the source for most of the craft ideas for Emma to make. Skip to My Lou has a few that are just for Valentine ideas/tutorials.
So I saw the tute for melted crayon shavings hearts and knew that Em would have a blast making ute pink and red hearts.
A few tips:
* Shave your crayons in advance - it will take a while and your fingers will turn fun colors!
* Set your iron to it's absolute lowest setting. Those shavings don't take much to melt
* Don't put too many shavings down are the colors will all run together.
I shaved lots of red, pink and light purple.

When those ran out (took her about 10 minutes! lol) she asked for green and black. She would have contined for as long as I could shave crayons but we had a tropical themed dinner party to get to and she asked me to make her a grass skirt (ribbon and raffia - nothing fancy here!).

The next day we got set up to cut out the heart shapes and hang them in the window. But my little artist had other ideas. A flower, tree, sun and moon.

Beautiful!

I must be a bundle of hormones
because I tear up nearly every time I read this book to Em and D.
It's called "South" by Patrick McDonell
There are no words in the story - just pictures. And sweet pictures they are.

Go to your local library and check out this adorable book to see the rest of the pages.

mini crafter
I like to make things - projects. Never really thought of myself as a crafter per say. But Emma LOVES to craft (have I mentioned that? lol). So I have been on the lookout for crafts that she would like and our craft stash is getting lots of use.

I never thought to put beads on pipe leaners. She did.

And made me a beautiful necklace!

Not-quite-Christmas-capes
These capes were on my Christmas gift list but I didn't get them made in time. So they were a week-after-Christmas-gift! I love the material for this project(Hallowe'en clearance!) but you couldn't pay me to work with it again. Well, maybe I would take $250 (what is left to raise for the doll house and furniture lol). It was a major pita!
On to the pictures.
"Ok, smile for the camera! I want to get a picture of you guys in your new capes!"

Ok, come on you guys! I worked really hard on these.
Just stand stiil then?

Thanks!
This cape pattern came from my sister. It is such a nice pattern. With the right fabric (not cotton - tried that!) They are very flowy and mystical.

Daniel only from the back - he was in his birthday suit underneath you see. lol
